BLOG MARATHON - Heroes and Heroines with GIVEAWAY

Blog hops are something, heh? A lot of them going on this month. I guess in December a lot of people are looking back at what they’ve accomplished this year and hope to accomplish in the next. Instead of the new stories I have for proposals, I’ll tell you about a book I wrote a couple years ago that I’ve been editing on and off the last few months when I have time. Yeah. Slow going, considering how much I have going on.

What book/story are you focusing on with a blurb?
A romantic paranormal about a deadly vampire who believes the young woman he raised from an infant has the special blood he needs to become powerful enough to overthrow the corrupt tribunal. Before he can perform the ceremony that will bind them, she’s kidnapped. When he rescues her, she returns determined to prove she’s strong enough to rule the netherworld by his side.

Is it a stand-alone or part of a series?
I would love for it to be a series with the couple as the main characters in all of the books. The story also has a great secondary character that would become part of a love triangle.

Who are the Hero/Heroine (or protagonists)? What do they (Hero/Heroine) look like?
Larisa has brown hair, green eyes, pretty but not beautiful. Self-centered because of her upbringing, she’s still loyal to a fault when it comes to her friends. Triton is a nearly 900 year old vampire with dark hair and darker eyes. He’s the enforcer for the netherworld tribunal and has a reputation for being merciless and cruel.

Though Deborah Ann Woll from TruBlood is a redhead with blue eyes, her perkiness and strength shines through her acting. She would make a great Larisa.  Of course, Hugh Jackman would be wonderful as Triton. Got to have an older man in the part even if he doesn’t age. Yum.

What is their favorite food or drink?
A typical twenty-three year old, Larisa loves junk food, sodas and the occasional energy drinks. Though as a vampire who gets most of his nourishment from blood, Triton enjoys a glass of wine (a full bodied Chateau Latour 1945) when he wakes in the evening. Old human habits are hard to break.

What are they likely to wear to a formal event? (Would they even go to a formal event, why or why not?)
Oh, yes. In fact, there is a Halloween Ball in the story with all the crazy netherworld creatures attending. Triton was dressed in a queue-wig, black waistcoat, knee-length breeches, stockings and shoes with silver buckles, think 1776, but very austere. While Larisa was to dress in a traditional Little Bo-Peep costume, she instead appeared in a flesh color mermaid dress with sequins covering key areas. The feathers at the bottom looked like foam. She was dressed as Aphrodite coming out of the sea.  Maybe something like this but less conservative.

What are they afraid of?
Larisa loves Triton but she’s afraid she’s not ‘enough’ for him: not pretty enough, smart enough, fearless enough, etc.  As the book goes along, the reader should realize that Triton is afraid he messed up big time when he held back information about his past.

If given orders what is the first reaction?
Larisa tries to boss everyone around but she knows as soon as Triton opens his mouth everyone will ignore her. Very frustrating by the way. So while everyone pretty much ignores her, people snap to attention when Triton speaks. When Triton orders her around, her first reaction is to see how she can use it to her advantage. Yes. She’s spoilt. As she said in the book, “When you live with vampires, you learn to look out for numero uno. They’re all powerful and lean toward egocentricity themselves. Think about it. With their superhuman strength they could beat down almost any opponent without breaking a sweat but rarely need to as they had ways of dealing with uncooperative humans that would make Batman jealous.”

What is their favorite color (s)?
Larisa is a blue jean and the latest college of her choice tee shirt girl. Triton is like so many scary dudes, he prefers black. Hides blood splatter.

What do they consider romantic?
For Larisa, it is seeing Triton sipping wine and staring at her as if she was the main course. Triton never had time for romance, but a hot willing woman in his bed would satisfy any romantic notions he possessed. But I’m sure as he realizes how much he loves Larisa he’ll find all kinds of ways to show his romantic side.

What keeps them apart?
What keeps a lot of couples apart? Lots and lots of lies and mistakes made in the past.

There is so much more that I’m not telling for good reason. Who wants to give away too much before it’s sold?

In the meanwhile, would you like a copy of CIRCLE OF DESIRE or CIRCLE OF DANGER, my first two books in The Circle series?  Be sure to comment below and I’ll announce a winner Wednesday night by 9 p.m.

Do you still enjoy a good sexy vampire story?
By the way, my latest book, CIRCLE OF DECEPTION, about arm dealers, explosions, orgies, yes, I said orgies, will be released in e-format December 26 and then in paperback a couple weeks later.  Amazon or Barnes and Noble plus many other book stores on line will have it.

Tomorrow, my next blog stop is at my own site, carlaswafford.blogspot.com

Don’t forget that here, we have another author answering the same questions but I'm sure more interesting than mine.  Be sure to come back and talk with Rashda Khan w/a Mina Khan.

I luuuuvs me a good vampire story! And from what you've told us of yours, I'd snatch it up in a hot peach-pie second! What would sell me is how spoiled she is but still has these insecurities that I can totally relate to!

Can't wait for Circle of Deception! Of course I'm going to buy the Kindle format...I can't wait two weeks for paperback... But I'll still buy the paperback, too, so I can have it signed by one of my favorite authors!!
