I confess I’m too tired to come up with anything deep today, so I thought I’d keep this blog simple.

I know many of you are going to the RWA Nationals. I couldn’t afford it this year, but I’d love to hear from those who are attending. What do you plan to do? Do you have agent/editor appointments? Is this your first time, are you going for the workshops, or are you just hoping to get away from home? Some will be meeting old friends, networking, attending those great parties, and heck yeah, book signing!

I’d love to hear everyone’s plans.

I'm going to my first RWA National Conference this year. Ironically, it is in DC and we just MOVED from there to AL. Anyway, me and the family are driving up together the weekend before. Then we'll see good friends. I go to the conference on the 15th where I'll meet, in person, my roommate and new friend, Tina. She and I met on the match page for the conference, have emailed, phoned, FACEBOOKED, and we are excited about actually meeting.

I have editor/agent appointments with my dream agent and editor from HQN. But I am a bit nervous because after I was very kindly helped my someone in the RWA office to sign up during the PRO rush, someone on the PRO Loop said I better get the confirmation of the TIMES via email in June or I might be SOL. I am pretty confident it will work out, but it's the 11th already and no word yet from the main office.

I'm excited about the workshops re: craft/business and being able to do the PRO Retreat. I am excited to see our own Danniele Worsham final for the GH and maybe win! And I am looking forward to seeing all my friends from other chapters as well. One of my CPs will be there and it'll be great to see her.

I wish you were going Karen--I hope you can go to the Nashville one with us. I definitely plan to go to that conference and I hope a HUGE contingent will come from AL's southern romance chapters.

Oh that sounds like such a great time, Christine. And good luck on those appointments. The last one I attended was in Dallas. It was a good time.

I'm hoping for Nashville and it would be wonderful if a bunch of us could carpool up there and have a grand ol' time!

Thanks for sharing!

Oh, a carpool would be so wonderful. What a great idea. Plus the cost of going to Nashville is less than to DC--that might help all our pocket books!

I can see us all in Nashville have a grand ol' time with all our romance buddies.

I'm going. This will be my second trip and I am really looking forward to it! My buddies Tammy and Jeanie from my hometown writing group are coming with me.
Tammy and I went to San Francisco last year and we had a ball.

I am looking forward to having lunch with my buddy Anna Campbell!

I am going on Beau Monde's day trip to some early nineteenth century homes in the area.

Then that evening is the Beau Monde Soiree where they will announce the winners of the Royal Ascot. My third book The Deceit of Desire is a finalist in the Hot and Wild Category.

Then Thursday night is the Death by Chocolate Party and the Daphne du Maurier Awards. The Deceit of Desire is a finalist in the historical category of that one too.

Saturday night is the Golden Heart / Rita Awards and I get to dress up! I had such a ball last year! I know The Raven's Heart won't win this year, BUT I am really thrilled to be a finalist!

AND the best part is seeing all of my buddies, especially the gals from last year's GH class - The Pixie Chicks! They are a really great group!

Christine, I can't wait to see you there!

I'm going and plan to see everyone I know that I can. Plus would love to see Louisa win all her finals (I'll be there for the DBC and GH).

Wednesday before all the events start, I plan to go with my buddy, Betty Bolte, to Arlington Cemetery. Yes, I'm a strange woman. Everytime I go somewhere new, I end up at a cemetery. Anyway, she has family buried there and I'm a big Audie Murphy fan and wish to pay my respects.

Like you Karen, I am going to live vicariously through others! :-)

I am so excited for everyone!

Louisa, you are soooo ready! Wow, and good luck on the finals. Sounds like you'll have a blast and lots of friends.

If you're going to go to a conference, that's how to do it. ;)

Carla, I KNOW you'll have a good time. I can see you networking now, with all your cool business writer cards (I love those!).

And even the cemetary sounds cool. I'd like to see it sometime myself. Say hey to Betty for me!

You and me! We'll live vicariously.

I look forward to hearing the stories when everyone returns.

Louisa, I will be cheering for you in the GH!! Wow. I am so lucky to have so many great people to root for this year. It will make the experience that much the sweeter.

Carla: I'll be looking for YOU there as well. So many things to experience!!

I am from the area so once I meet up with my roomie, I hope to share some of my insider tips with her :)

Arlington Cemetery is amazing! Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Kennedy graves, the whole place--

I am so looking forward to conference! I just sent in my 3rd book (June 9th, which is how I also missed my day to blog here -- sorry about that!), so I've emerged from the cave to realize it's almost time and I'm not done with my shopping, etc!

Next year, y'all, you HAVE to go. We'll all be able to drive, so that's cool. :)

I can't wait to meet up with my Pixie Chick friends from last year's GH finalist group. Can't wait to cheer for Louisa and Danniele on Saturday night! Can't wait to wear my FIRST SALE ribbon!!!!

And all the parties, etc. I get to meet with my agent again -- last year I pitched her, this year she's actually my agent. Geez, it's just so much fun. Oh, and I'm presenting a panel on Friday morning -- "I Sold to New York...Now What?" with four other debut authors.

Lynn, that's so exciting. Your experience this year will be so different compared to last year and in such a wonderful way! Congrats on finishing the 3rd book!
