A Wonderful Day!

Yesterday, November 4, the Southern Magic Chapter held our 3rd Annual Readers' Luncheon at the Wynfrey Hotel in Birmingham. Teresa Medeiros was the keynote speaker. She was wonderful, of course. Carla and the other ladies did a great job. As usual, I did not win one raffle. I am the unluckiest person around. Apparently, the readers enjoy the day, because the same ones return year after year as well as attending our sister chapter's (Heart of Dixie) readers' luncheon in May.

The energy of the readers' luncheon is indescribable. Over a hundred women and men brought together by their love of books and reading.

What's your favorite part of the luncheon?

Had a great time at the luncheon. My favorite part was Teresa's speech. It was wonderful.

My favorite part was presenting a copy of my recent release to Shannon Bainbridge, who won the "name in the book" contest last year for Real Women Don't Wear Size 2. I love putting a reader's name in each of my books -- it's fun! And it's really fun to give that reader an autographed copy :)

The luncheon was great! Kudos to Carla, Christy and all of the fabulous Southern Magic volunteers who made is such a tremendous success!

It was great to chat with a few of our SM members that I had yet to meet, along with seeing everyone else who did such a great job putting this together.

Teresa's speech was wonderful. There wasn't a dry eye in the room after that.

I had a great time yesterday. I was lucky enough to sit at Teresa's table. I was so nice to have conversations with her, to ask her questions and for her to actually ask ME questions.

I also enjoyed helping with the set up of the luncheon, stuffing bags, while getting to know some members, Giselle, Susan V. and Debby G. I also was able to do a bit of shopping some great boots on sale...

Can't wait for the conference!

My favorite part? Too hard to choose. From seeing so many willing to volunteer (thanks everyone!!) to being so proud of each author that attends. One of the most giving and gracious group of people anyone could meet!

I liked the part where I handed out awards to authors for selling so many books this year! I love my happy job. :)

Hi everyone! The luncheon was fabulous and I had a great time. I have to say that sitting next to Deborah Matthews definitely brought me good luck. Winning Sherrilyn's door prize only happened because of the good fibes coming from Deborah! Thanks to all of you who worked so hard to make the luncheon a success! Vickie Persad

Well, Vickie, if I'm such good luck, why didn't I win anything?
